1. What are some of the reasons video games were successful? What makes a game popular?

Video games are very successful because it is fun to play and most games are not very hard to play. Anyone can play a video game cause of how easy it is to learn a game. Video games today are much popular because it can be a stress reliever for those that are very stress with work. The art style or the graphics are the key component to games today. The difficulty of a game determines how a person is gonna enjoy a game. If a game is too difficult it can make people frustrated. The story line of a game is the most vital part of a video game. A good story on a game can hook people to a video game franchise and make them buy a game if it has a great story.

2.What are some of the reasons why the video game industry crashed in the 1980s?

The rivalry of consoles was one factor of why the video game industry crashed. Some consoles were very poor quality and  people lose hope on the video game industry. The amount of new consoles confused customers on which console to get because this consoles all have different games from the company as well as third-party games. People were rushing to make new games but since they were rushing the games were very buggy and poor design. Consoles also had to compete with personal computers but people bought more computers because they can play games and has other functions that consoles couldn't have.

3.Do you think video games are a form of art? Why or why not?

Yes video games are a form of art because with more experience and practice you can make a masterpiece game just like paintings. Video games have different art styles and tell a story. A game can seen differently from the person playing the game than the creator and have different points of view on the game. Creators have all the control when playing a game it can be abstract or realistic.

4. What is the next evolution in video games? What are the challenges that need to be solved in the next generation of games?

The next evolution in video games are ultra realistic graphics and VR to be easier to control and realistic. This would be very difficult to make because of how much it can cost to make a game and also companies would need to create new graphics card and sell it a price people can afford. Challenges that need to be solved in the next generation of games is to making new unique games since companies are running out of ideas to making new games. Another challenge is companies making better and faster consoles or computers and sell it at a reasonable price but will be difficult to do since graphics card and processor are very expensive for people to afford.
